The public review and comment period for draft plans and programs will be used to satisfy the public participation requirements of the Federal Transit Act (49 USC Section 5307/5310/5339).  Public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review of and comments will satisfy the Program of Projects requirements.

PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to T.C.A. §8-44-101 and T.C.A. § 13-3-403 the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission will conduct a Special Called Public Meeting on Thursday, January 26th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.  This meeting will be  conducted in person in the County Commission meeting room on the fourth floor of the Hamilton County Courthouse located 625 Georgia Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402.

The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss proposed amendments to the City of Chattanooga Subdivision Regulations in regards to the proposed incorporation of street standards into the subdivision regulations.

A copy of the proposed regulation amendments are available for review on the RPA website at www.chcrpa.org.

CITY OF CHATTANOOGA SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS

STREET DESIGN STANDARDS – UPDATE

As a follow-up to the work sessions held over the summer where proposed changes were presented on the Chattanooga Subdivision Regulations and in response to comments received since that time, RPA and the Department of City Planning are hosting a public meeting on Monday, November 28 from 1pm to 3pm. The work session will also cover proposed changes to the Form Based Code.

The session will be held in the 1st Floor Conference Room (Room 1A) of the Development Resource Center, 1250 Market Street, Chattanooga, TN.

RPA and the Department of City Planning will present feedback that we have received on the proposed changes to the Chattanooga Subdivision Regulations, modifications that have been made to the proposed changes, details of the proposed variance process, and the next steps. Information about the proposed changes and feedback received are available at chcrpa.org.

CHATTANOOGA-HAMILTON COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING AGENCY

AUGUST 15, 2022

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency will be holding two public meetings on the proposed changes to the City of Chattanooga Subdivision Regulations.

The purpose of these meetings is to convey changes to the standards for streets and rights-of-way as governed by the Subdivision Regulations, discuss feedback received on the changes to date, and receive feedback on the proposed changes. Information about the proposed changes will be available for review on the web at www.chcrpa.org by Thursday, August 11th.

  • 2:00-3:30 PM: Public Meeting, beginning with a brief presentation
  • 5:30-6:30 PM: Open House format, drop by at any time to learn about the proposed changes and to share your comments with staff

The meetings will be held in person on Monday, August 15, 2022 in the 1st Floor Conference Room (Room 1A) of the Development Resource Center, 1250 Market Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402. Please join us for one of the meetings; the two meetings will cover the same content.

We will present feedback that we have received on the proposed changes to the City of Chattanooga Subdivision Regulations, modifications that have been made to the proposed changes, and the next steps we will be taking. The plan also identifies potential Intelligent Transportation System projects and programs that could be deployed over the next 20 years.

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County/North Georgia Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) developed a draft Public Participation Plan. The plan documents a public engagement framework and process for providing individuals and other stakeholders opportunities to be involved in the regional transportation planning process. The TPO’s planning area includes Hamilton County, TN and Catoosa County, GA and the northern portions of Dade and Walker Counties in Georgia.

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County/North Georgia Transportation Planning Organization is seeking public input through a Virtual Open House due to public health concerns. Una reunión de la Junta Ejecutiva de la Organización de Planificación de Transporte (TPO, por sus siglas en inglés) se llevará a cabo el miércoles 13 de noviembre de 2019, de 1:30 a 3:00 p.m. hora del Este en el Centro de Recursos para el Desarrollo, 1250 Market Street, sala de conferencias 1A, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402.  La Junta Ejecutiva de TPO adoptará medidas sobre los siguientes temas:

  • Aprobación de las minutas de la reunión de la Junta Ejecutiva de TPO realizada el 28 de agosto de 2019.
  • Aprobación por resolución de una Auto-Certificación de que el Proceso de Planificación de Transporte de la Organización de Planificación de Transporte del Condado de Chattanooga-Hamilton/ Norte de Georgia se está conduciendo de conformidad con las Regulaciones Federales.

2020-2023 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

The Transportation Improvement Program is a short-range program which provides a prioritized list of multimodal transportation projects within the Chattanooga-Hamilton County/North Georgia Transportation Planning Organization area.  

A 30-day public comment period for the 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Program of Projects opens October 15, 2019 pending Chattanooga-Hamilton County/North Georgia Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) Technical Coordinating Committee action.  

 

Review of the TIP and public input can be accommodated several ways:

PUBLIC MEETING:  The Chattanooga-Hamilton County/North Georgia Transportation Planning Organization will hold an Open House public meeting for review and input regarding the 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program.  No formal presentation will be given. The meeting will be held:

El Programa de Mejoramiento del Transporte es un programa de corto alcance que proporciona una lista priorizada de proyectos de transporte multimodal dentro del área de la Organización de Planificación de Transporte del Condado de Hamilton-Chattanooga, Norte de Georgia. 

Un periodo de comentarios públicos de 30 días para el Programa de Mejoramiento del Transporte (TIP, por sus siglas en inglés) y el Programa de proyectos abre el 15 de octubre de 2019 pendiente de la acción del Comité de Coordinación Técnica de la Organización de Planificación de Transporte (TPO) del Condado de Hamilton-Chattanooga, Norte de Georgia.
