The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County/North Georgia has received the highest award in the nation from the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO). The “Outstanding Overall Achievement Award” for a Transportation Management Area (TMA) MPO “annually honors a local government organization that has advanced metropolitan transportation planning through projects, products, or excellence in its operations. This AMPO award is highly competitive with the largest and most advanced city and county government transportation planning organizations in the U.S.”
The MPO is staffed by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency.
