For the Chattanooga-Hamilton County/North Georgia (CHCNGA) Transportation Planning Organization (TPO), Cambridge Systematics developed a regional freight study. The study included a profile of freight activity in the area, including economic output and employment related to goods movement, regional trade patterns, truck and rail safety, and a rail-highway crossing inventory. Cambridge Systematics also coordinated a freight forum in Chattanooga to solicit feedback from private sector freight stakeholders. Freight needs and deficiencies, as well as potential solutions, were then developed based on technical analysis and stakeholder input. Solutions were ranked using the TPO’s current project selection process so they align with the goals and objectives of the 2035 Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). Linked below you will find the final report of this study, the Chattanooga 2010 Freight Profile.
